Kapok is highly recommended for allergy sufferers: a bitter substance in the fibres makes the material antibacterial and antimicrobial. The kapok fibre is absolutely odorless and is not known to cause allergic reactions.
Kapok consists of a 2-4cm long hollow-core fibre containing approx. 80% air. This ensures a natural, thermal-regulating effect. Due to this fibre structure, kapok is a breathable fabric.
The combination of an ultra-light kapok fibre with a high-quality cotton fabric causes an extraordinary lightness and a remarkably soft, silky touch. Kapok is around 10% lighter than 100% cotton.
After kapok comes in contact with water, the fibres dry quickly and return to their original state. The material absorbs moisture for excellent breathability and is easy-care.
