MEYER–HOSEN–AG data protection policy

We are pleased that you have shown an interest in our website. The protection of your privacy is very important for us. Below you can find detailed information regarding the handling of your data.

Data protection is a matter of trust and your trust is important to us. This is why we adhere to strict legal guidelines when processing your personal data.

This protection policy provides an overview of what personal data is collected and how this is handled as well as other important information.

Data collection during ordering

You can view our website without providing any details about yourself. We only save access data – even if viewing the site via a newsletter link – without any personal reference e.g.

  • the name of your internet service provider
  • the site from which you visited us
  • the names of the requested files

This data is only used to optimise our offer and does not permit us to deduce information regarding your person.

We collect, save and process your data so that we can process and complete your order and also for the later processing of a warranty and for advertising purposes. Personal data is collected when you provide us with this during the order process or when opening a customer account or registering for the newsletter.

Your personal data is passed on to the service providers we use as part of the processing of your order (forwarding and logistics companies and banks).

Right to information

According to the Federal Data Protection Act, you have a right to free information regarding your saved data as well as, if applicable, a right to the correction, blocking or deletion of this data.

Consenting to a credit check

If you are paying upon invoice we reserve the right, in order to safeguard our legitimate interests, to acquire credit information based on a mathematical– statistical procedure using your address data from the company Domnowski Inkasso GmbH; Limbecker Platz 1; 45127 Essen. In so far as the score values established by this company result in a request for information, we ask you to please contact this company direct.

All personal data is, of course, treated confidentially and your interests concerning protection are taken into strict consideration according to legal requirements. Your order is saved internally. This includes, for example, your surname, first name, billing address, delivery address, telephone number, account details and e–mail. This data, necessary for the business transaction, is saved and passed on to, if necessary, companies associated with us – or our service partners who work for us – during order processing in the sense of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

E–mail advertising and newsletter

If you have registered separately for the newsletter, your e–mail address will be used for forwarding purposes until you unsubscribe the newsletter. This is possible at anytime without incurring any costs apart from the transmission costs for the basic rates of your access provider.

The use of cookies

We use so–called cookies on our internet site. These are small files which can be stored on your hard drive which store certain settings and data for exchange with our systems via your browser. This helps us optimise the website for you and makes it easier for you to use. For example certain entries you make are saved which means that you do not need to repeat these. Your browser allows restrictive settings for the use of cookies whereby these may lead to restrictions in the use of our website. Here cookies may also be deleted.

Session cookies

Session cookies are deleted once your browser is closed.

Long term cookies

We use cookies which remain on your hard drive. The expiry date is, for your comfort, set at a date in the future. If you visit our site again, your computer will automatically recognise that you have already visited us before and what entries and settings you prefer (so–called long term cookies).

Data security

Your payment data is encoded during the order process (SSL encoded) and transmitted via the internet. Credit card data is not saved but collected and processed direct by our payment service provider (Heidelberger Payment GmbH, Gaisbergstr. 11–13, 69115 Heidelberg). We secure our website and other systems with technical and organisational measures against the loss, destruction, access, change and reproduction of your data by unauthorised persons. You should also treat your access information as confidential and close the browser window when you have finished communication with us, particularly if you are using the computer with others.

Data collection for our statistics

This website also uses Google Analytics. This is a service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google uses its information to evaluate your use of the website in order to compile reports for us on website activities and to provide further services for us associated with website and internet use. Google may also pass this information on to third parties in so far as this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Google will, on no account, associate your IP address with other data from Google. You can also prevent the installation of cookies by a setting on your browser software. The information will also be shown on Facebook and displayed for your Facebook friends to see.

Facebook may use this information for advertising or market research purposes or for the user orientated design of the Facebook website. For this, Facebook compiles usage, interest and relationship profiles e.g. to evaluate your use of our website with regard to advertisements displayed for you to see on Facebook, inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website or for other services associated with the use of Facebook.

If you do not want Facebook to assign the data collected via our website to your Facebook account you will need to log–out of Facebook before visiting our website.
